See 60 prize-winning, short films by youth + join in free, online workshops via the Re-Generation International Youth Film Festival the weekend of December 9 to 11 (December 8 to 10 in the USA). This event celebrates creativity from youth around the globe.

Twenty winning films from the One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest will screen online with several included in the live premiere screening at the Alex Theatre in St. Kilda, Australia, on Dec. 9.

Animation, Editing, and Production workshops will be available online to an international audience, including a Claymation workshop with Young Filmmakers Contest elementary level winner Bryn Wright (Bad Bugs). Times below are Central Times.

1) Explore Animation with Radheya Jegatheva on 12/8 from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m., 12/9 at 4:15 from 5:30 p.m., 12/10 from 10 to 11 p.m.

2) Adobe Rush Video Editing with Dr. Tim Kitchen on 12/8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., 12/9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

3) DaniMation Workshop with + Q&A with Dani Bowman on 12/8 from 7:40 to 8:20 p.m., 12/9 from 8 to 9 p.m.

4) Claymation Workshop with Bryn Wright on 12/8 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., 12/10 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

5) Zero Budget Film Production with Celia Jaspers on 12/10 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Twenty winning films from the One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest will screen online at the Virtual Re-Generation International Youth Film Festival on the weekend of December 9 to 11 (Dec 8 to 10 in USA, see Central Times below), with several being included in the live premiere screening at the Alex Theatre in St. Kilda, Australia. The Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival will also provide some of their winning films for a combined weekend of entertainment, celebrating the creativity of youth around the globe.

'Girls for Future' Watch Party

FILM DESCRIPTION: Girls for Future follows four girls from Senegal, Indonesia, Australia and India who fight for a better future. Between the ages of 11 and 14, they are all directly affected by the consequences of environmental destruction. In the film, we see the global water crisis as it is playing out in Senegal. A visit to the girl from Indonesia highlights plastic waste pollution. A segment on the girl from India reveals the effects of the agricultural crisis. Finally, the Australian girl reveals the fatal destruction found within oceans and on land due to climate change.

Recommended for middle school+ general audiences.
