This year's hot and very dry season has taken a toll on our much anticipated garden bounty. Never fear, we've lined up award-winning canning blogger and author, Marisa McClellan, to share her secrets with local canners on how to rescue the sparse treasures from this year's dreaded drought.
Choosing a recipe from her June 2012 popular book, Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year-Round, Marisa will inspire all, from the novice to the seasoned veteran. Her canning class is scheduled for Sunday, August 26th, 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Green Home Experts.
Following the class, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., GHE will host a book signing and meet and greet for Marisa. Her Food in Jars book is available now at GHE for $23 while supplies last. Tickets for the canning class are $40 and include a jar of the morning's freshly canned delight. Seats are limited, so contact GHE today to reserve your spot. Attendance at the book signing is free.
