Eco Odyssey Application Deadline

From World Tree Productions:

A ground breaking reality TV show “Plus 1 Eco Odyssey” will premiere in summer 2024. There will be 13 episodes, 9 contestants, and one $50,000 winner. But first they need to find those 9 special Gen Z (age 18 to 27) contestants.

World Tree Productions is on the hunt for the next generation of diverse, environmental leaders and innovators. If you're a Gen Z eco-entrepreneur (ages 18-27) with a vision for a sustainable future, this is YOUR chance to make waves.

Nine (9) Gen Z eco-entrepreneurs will compete for a Grand Prize of $50,000 and receive a 12-month mentorship from some of the world's top business and sustainability experts to scale their business.

Show Format:

  • 13 30-minute episodes featuring eco-entrepreneurs from around the world: the specific water challenges they face + the water innovations they’ve developed to address them.

  • Filming will take place in each contestant’s country to showcase how water, our most precious resource, is impacted + how local change can have BIG upstream impacts.

  • Clever show challenges will test the contestants’ business + eco-savvy and will be judged by a panel of experts.

  • Every episode will have a small, medium and big tip on how everyone can take action to save the planet.

From One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest:

On Saturday, Nov. 4, watch 6 short, One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest honorable mention films from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. CDT, take a half hour break, and then see 6 more films from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. CDT. We will hear from each filmmaker before their film screens.

One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest Deadline

Inspire environmental change or action through film. One Earth Film Festival seeks short, 3- to 8-minute environmental films from youth in third grade through age 25 for the Young Filmmakers Contest. Animated films of 45-seconds minimum are also accepted. Rules are more relaxed for those in grade 12 and up, and prizes have expanded. There are four $1,000 top prizes for live action, animation, creativity, and post grad categories, as well as several $500 activism awards. Deadline is Jan.5, 2022. Screening: Young Filmmakers Contest Honorable Mention Winners (College Level+)

The One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest awards environmental films created by students from grade 3 to age 25. Films that inspire change or action stream in from across the country each year, with 149 total submissions in 2021.

In this virtual event, we feature seven, short, Honorable Mention winning films (from college to post-grad level), which were just a hair's breadth away from first place. Zoom discussion with filmmakers from Texas to Washington, DC, will be facilitated by Young Filmmakers Contest Founding Director Sue Crothers.
